Hytrel® combines the flexibility of rubber with the mechanical strength and processability of thermoplastics. DuPont Hytrel® TPC-ET thermoplastic elastomer is a versatile copolyester. It combines elasticity, heat resistance, chemical resistance, and strength and durability. Parts made with Hytrel® thermoplastic elastomer resin can bend in multiple directions, cyclically twist back and forth multiple times, and the same rubber product may fail. A good example is a constant velocity universal joint (CVJ) shield, an automotive component that withstands an average of 150,000 miles of severe impact and a wide range of temperatures.
